Get ready for PVG online results
Disclosure Scotland launches new Online Accounts service
Disclosure Scotland has secured a digital first with the launch of its new public Online Account service.
Across Scotland, thousands more people will now be able to access their Protected Vulnerable Group (PVG) scheme online results using their digital devices, instead of receiving a paper certificate.
From 18 November, PVG members can now apply for a PVG scheme disclosure and view their results online.
It's a faster user-friendly and accessible way to view your disclosure results.
Key benefits include:
-
for people working in regulated roles, a PVG disclosure gives extra reassurance to employers that they are suitable to work with children and protected adults.
-
the service is also helping to speed up the recruitment process for employers, giving organisations the information they need to make safe and fairer decisions.
To use this service, applicants must set up an online account and first confirm their identity.
In partnership with Scottish Government’s ScotAccount, Disclosure Scotland is the first organisation to use this new online sign in and verification service and is leading the way for other public sector organisations in this area.
Lynne McMinn, Executive Director of Policy and Digital Innovation, Disclosure Scotland, said:
“The public launch of our online account marks the culmination of our Disclosure Scotland online journey.
"The public beta version of our online accounts service combines our popular online application with our ground-breaking digital results service into one end-to-end journey. Thanks to our partnership with ScotAccount, we can give people extra assurance that their digital disclosure results are only seen by the intended recipient and that their information is kept safe and secure.
"From today, all of our PVG disclosure applicants will be invited to create an online account as part of the application process to apply for their PVG and view their results.
“This is a major achievement, and as a key milestone for the organisation, it is incredible to look back to what our service looked like in 2020 and compare it to where we are now. This progress is all thanks to the diligence and hard work of everyone at Disclosure Scotland, our partners and organisations who tested our service as part of our pilot.”
Trudy Nicolson, ScotAccount’s Programme Director, added:
“The ScotAccount team are proud to be partnering with Disclosure Scotland to deliver their Online Account service.
“This ambitious, innovative digital project involves a joint multi-disciplinary team who are working in an agile way to co-design an inclusive, accessible, privacy protecting, service. This is putting people at the centre of what we do.
“Our partnership with Disclosure Scotland has been critical in delivering the live ScotAccount service, which is helping transform the way people access Scotland’s public services online.
“We look forward to our continued work with Disclosure Scotland as they scale their Online Account service.”
A countersignatory organisation service user, said:
“We’ve found the move to online accounts, incredibly useful. Disclosure results are now more easily available, allowing the applicant to have control over the secure sharing of their result with their prospective employer. This has helped to speed up the recruitment process.”
